What to know before visiting Ghizer
Popularly known as the land of lakes, this beautiful valley has gained the attention of tourists in recent decades. Earlier, lack of infrastructure was the major obstacle that tourists faced when visiting Ghizer. However, all of that is changing now. The western leg of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is supposed to pass from Ghizer, and a road linking Gilgit to Chitral via Ghizer and Shandur is in the making. It will be a game changer for the region!
Barsat/Langar
Langar is the last major settlement of Ghizar District before the road climbs up to Shandur Top, and down to Sor Laspur in Upper Chitral. Langar is known for having plenty of trouts is roughly at an elevation of 3000 m.
Phander
Phander Of all the places in Ghizer District, Phander valley is the most popular amongst tourists for its scenic views and green fields amidst high mountains.
Gupis/Khalti Lake
This lake is situated 6 kms from Gupis and is one of the most accessible lakes in Ghizer valley. It is at an elevation of roughly 2,300 m and is famous for its trout fish.
